Enhanced with White Lotus and Camellia, it can repair and strengthen even the most severely dry and damaged strands.

Product Claims - Fights hair fall, Enhances volume, Provides silky perfection, Repairs damaged strands, Enhances Natural Shine.

Ingredients (as it says on the packaging) - Aqua, Glycerine, Coco Betaine, Polysorbate, Behentrimonium Chloride, Argan Oil, Cetearyl Alcohol, Glycol Stearate, Glyceryl Monostearate, Glyceryl Oleate, Dimethicone, PEG-7, Phenoxyethanol, Benzenemethanol, White Lotus Extract, Camellia Extract, Hyaluronic acid, EDTA, Sodium Gluconate, Parfum.

The website has a table explaining the ingredients, their type (natural or synthetic origin), source and benefits, which I really appreciated as the brand is transparent with their ingredients and educates the consumer as well. However, the sequence of ingredients on the website and the packaging itself do not match. The percentage of the ingredients used plays an important role when it comes to jotting down the ingredients on the packaging. In most skincare and haircare products, aqua aka water is the first ingredient which indicates it is used in the highest percentage (at least 50%). In this hair mask, aqua is mentioned as the first ingredient on both, the website and the packaging however, argan oil is the second ingredient on the website whereas it's glycerin on the packaging. Even though ingredients like antioxidants (Argan oil) and plant extracts (camellia and white lotus) are not necessarily required to be used at a higher concentration to work but seeing two different lists definitely put me off a little bit.

Pilgrim Argan Oil Hair Mask with Camellia and White Lotus Extract has a nice, thick consistency which makes it easy to apply on hair. HAIRCARE PRODUCT REVIEW SKINCHEMSCIENCES

  MY THOUGHTS ON THE PRODUCT

Pilgrim Argan Oil Hair Mask with Camellia and White Lotus Extract HAIRCARE PRODUCT REVIEW SKINCHEMSCIENCES

It comes in a dark brown coloured container along with a   wooden spatula. The brand story and the packaging is cute.   Although it comes in a sturdy container ( which is HEAVY! Trust Me), I would have liked if they had a more eco-friendly option or even a re-fill option which would make it stand out from other brands.

The consistency of the mask is very thick with a buttery touch, feels luxurious and has a rich feel to it. The application was quite smooth, it has a good slip to it and spreads easily. There isn't any clarification on whether to use it on dry hair or damp hair. However, I used it on clean, damp hair starting from the roots to the tip as directed. It dries on the strand after a few minutes but does not feel coarse or heavy.

Surprisingly, the rinsing was super easy. As the mask itself felt heavy and sticky, I assumed it would make my hair oily and that I had made a huge mistake by using it on my scalp. But to my surprise, that wasn't the case, it was not sticky at all and it did not leave my strands oily or heavy.

I wasn't a fan of the smell of the product itself but I absolutely loved the smell once I was done rinsing and drying my hair. It has a fresh, tropical smell that is lingering (stayed until my next wash day) but not overpowering.

Now coming to the claims, it definitely enhanced the hair volume but it did not reduce the frizz. It made my hair very silky,  (thanks to all those emollients)  I could not stop touching my hair all day. It claims to repair damaged strands which it did in a way by giving it a healthy shine.  Argan oil definitely promotes healthy hair growth and maintains a healthy scalp which in turn might suggest that it prevents hair fall but I'm not quite sure if it 'fights' hair fall. I did not lose an abnormal amount of hair while or post applying (I have thin, fine hair and even the slightest of weight on my hair strand causes hair fall ) so that's a plus. It claims to be appropriate for all hair types but I would not recommend it to my curly hair gang because it straightened my waves. Overall, I would say it pretty much lived up to the claims and is a good option if you want silky, smooth and nice smelling hair.

In conclusion, I really liked the way my hair felt and smelt after using the mask. I'm not a huge fan of the way it looked because I did not see any frizz reduction but I definitely enjoyed the added volume and shine.

Overall, It's a great hair mask and one of the bests I've tried to date. It does not contain any toxic chemicals, it did not leave any residue behind, smells great, is easy to rinse and strands did not feel oily, left my scalp feeling 'fresh', the brand is transparent regarding the ingredients and their source, is cruelty-free and vegan.

So, the Pilgrim Argan Oil Hair Mask is SKINCHEM reviewed and SKINCHEM approved

DO PARABENS REALLY CAUSE CANCER? - SKINCHEM SCIENCES- MYTH OR FACT?

DO PARABENS REALLY DESERVE THE HATRED THAT THEY GET IN THE BEAUTY AND PERSONAL CARE INDUSTRY?  Is not the question that we ask ourselves when we're proudly using our paraben - one of the most hated and feared ingredients in the personal care industry - free products.  Let's take a deep dive into its origin, uses and composition to find out whether they really deserve the hatred. WHAT ARE PARABENS? Speaking from a chemistry point of view, parabens are a class of esters derived from para - hydroxybenzoic acid. These are colourless, odourless and crystalline solids with satisfactory solubility in water. Speaking from a cosmetic use point of view, they are preservatives i.e. they protect our cosmetic products from microbes. Every time your moisturizer (or makeup or shampoos, or lotion or toothpaste .. literally any product that's packaged) comes in contact with air or you touch it, it is exposed to several micro-organisms like bacterias, fungi etc. The products need some sort o
